What happened
N.Bosa stripping S.Darnold and recovering his own forced fumble at the SF 16 with 42 seconds left is the only reason this game ends in the win column, and the play before it — a 40-yard Darnold strike to J.Smith-Njigba down to the 14 — is the kind of coverage breakdown that won't get papered over forever. The B.Purdy-to-R.Pearsall connection looked real; J.Moody's blocked field goal and the Purdy interception did not. Defense bailed out a lot.
