What happened
S.Darnold gave them a chance, hitting J.Smith-Njigba for 40 to set up first-and-goal at the 14 with under a minute left — then N.Bosa came free, stripped him, and recovered it himself. Before that, B.Purdy had already cooked the secondary deep to R.Pearsall twice, including the 45-yarder that set up the go-ahead score. The opener is gone, and the questions at corner are louder than anything else.
