A.Carter's strip-sack recovery of B.Burns' takedown in the second quarter was the kind of break a desperate team converts — instead, G.Gano pushed a 45-yarder wide left and the moment evaporated. Four straight games surrendering 30+ points has stopped being a trend and started being an identity, and no amount of M.Jones-to-J.Jennings short stuff covers for a defense that can't get off the field. November hasn't started and the math already feels finished.
