Misery Index · Miserable

Patriots fans too drained to argue, just taking turns blaming Vrabel, the refs, and a defense that couldn't close.

The emotional rollercoaster

What happened

D.Maye and R.Stevenson's 48-yard screen touchdown gave this one every chance, but the defense couldn't produce a stop when it mattered, letting C.Williams carve them up with deep shots to R.Odunze on back-to-back drives. The roughing-the-passer flag on G.Jacas was the kind of self-inflicted wound that's becoming a pattern under Vrabel. Soft coverage, bad penalties, missed 53-yarder off the upright — pick a reason, they all point the same direction.
