Week 1 · 2026–27 season
Chargers
L 14-26 vs Cardinals · Sep 13, 2026
Misery Index · Despair
Chargers fans already burying the season in Week 1, with Hortiz effigies lit and a nine-week gauntlet on deck.
The emotional rollercoaster
Fan misery across the game window. Up is worse. ● biggest swings
What happened
Home opener, and the special teams surrender a blocked punt to S.Fehoko at the LAC 3 while O.Hampton coughs up a fumble at the ARI 34 that likely takes points off the board. The L.McConkey touchdown from J.Herbert was a brief flicker, but the guard play, the defense, and the margin for error are all screaming the same thing. If this is the floor against Arizona, the next nine weeks look unlivable.
