What happened
Two wins in three, and the mood still curdled. Carolina handled them 2-4 on Monday, and the postgame talk was less about systems than personnel, with one fan insisting "Ilya needs to sit for a game. He has been awful for the start of the season and constantly looks lost." The turning point came the next night: a messy 5-4 survival against Montreal that quieted the coaching discourse before someone could "snap my phone in half." A tidy 4-2 over New Jersey followed, and still the loudest complaints were empty seats and gambling ads.
