What happened

Three games, three losses, and a misery index that nearly tripled. The 4-5 in Utah drew blame at the officials, "genuinely brain dead" linesmen doing the heavy lifting for a thin excuse. Then came the turn: 4-5 at home to Buffalo, a defeat one fan called "so directly attributable to coaching, absolute fucking insanity," with Hiller catching the rest. By the 1-4 against the Islanders, the building had stopped arguing and started booing. "9 games into the season btw." October is long.
