What happened

The week opened in Columbus with a 3-6 loss and a power play that read like satire: one fan "laughed my ass off at the '60 page document to improve our powerplay'" before a penalty erupted thirty seconds into the man advantage, while others asked how Appert still has a job. Two nights later, a 4-3 win over Chicago arrived as the turning point, one skater looking "like a whole new player tonight." Still, the grievance underneath predates the power play: fourteen years, and counting, of ownership nobody chose.
