What happened
Opening week landed at 1-2 and the mood followed it around. Memphis took the opener 123-103, and the fanbase arrived already betrayed: "We should be as angry as a honey badger with a napoleon complex right now! We were promised things!!!" The turn came two nights later, a 120-119 survival against New Orleans, Peterson's career high and Hayes closing it. Then the Lakers won 132-123 and the grievances found a target in Luka and the whistle. Joy here keeps a short lease.
