What happened
The week opened in the best possible mood: 121-96 over Sacramento, and a fanbase crowing "No Mods No Picks No GM No LOSES." Then the Lakers happened, 125-117, and the turning point was less a possession than a referee — "I hate this fat boy and his stupid whistle." A 108-101 loss in Oklahoma City dropped them to 1-2, and nobody much cared. Attention had already moved to the rookies, Dick and Wagler and Grady, and a Haliburton variant. Losing is survivable when the future's fun.
