The 5-2 win over the Yankees at home pushed them to 2-0 and drew the kind of praise that usually gets a team jinxed — "every bit the part of the best team in the AL…and dare I say, baseball?" Then 4-3 in the Bronx to finish it at 3-0, with Bryan Baker canonized on the spot. The turning point was the catwalk fly-out, read aloud from the Yankees game thread for sport. Somehow the misery index still rose. Old habits.
