What happened

Two wins over the Angels, 9-7 and 7-3, had the board reminiscing about a "Miguel tejada walk off homer for 18 and walk off single for 19 in a row." Then Houston arrived. The 6-5 win on Thursday was the high-water mark and the turning point; after that came 2-13 and 0-9, and 64-98. The bitterness aimed elsewhere — "Just like the Raiders had season tickets for 5 years. They left us!!!" — curdled into something quieter: depression about Oakland sports, and no expectation of a next team.
