What happened
West Virginia lost 42-45 at Iowa State and fell to 3-2, which sounds competitive until you watch the coverage. Fans spent the night cataloging receivers who "just stand there with nobody within 15 yards of them in the giant gaping holes of Alley's shit defense." The turning point came on the final drive, where, as one fan put it, "Epps needed to just step out of bounds" with overtime ten yards away. Misery jumped from 71 to 95. Scoring 42 and still leaving angry is its own achievement.
