What happened
Wisconsin beat Western Illinois 36-9 and the fanbase came away convinced of nothing good. The scoreboard said comfortable; the secondary said otherwise, and the turning point was less a play than a realization, somewhere in a second half where, as one fan asked, "Second half adjustments...what are those?" Someone watched an FCS opponent throw and concluded "anyone in the B1G could hang 50+ on us through the air." At 1-1, misery held at 74. A win nobody trusted, against the only opponent it was safe to beat.
