W 41-24 vs Kansas · Sat, Oct 10 · 5-0 overall
Misery Index · Uneasy
Undefeated and unconvinced, Utah's room coined Scalleyball for the quarter everyone forgets the sport.
The emotional rollercoaster
Utah fans’ misery during the game, every 15 minutes. Up is worse.
What happened
Utah beat Kansas 41-24 and moved to 5-0, which on paper is the kind of October a fanbase dreams about. The turning point came in the quarter the Utes apparently spent elsewhere, the one that turned a comfortable afternoon into a group text. One fan gave it a name: "Scalleyball," defined as playing great for three quarters "at the expense of the whole team forgetting what sport they are playing for 1 quarter." Undefeated, and still bracing. Five wins, zero trust.
