Penn State opened with a 45-0 win over Marshall, and the fanbase briefly forgot how to be miserable. The turning point came early, when the passing game started working: receivers catching the ball in space, which one fan called "a beautiful thing," apparently having waited years to see it. Another declared it "the most well-coached, perfectly executed game of Penn State football I have ever seen in my life." At 1-0, nobody mentioned November. Yet.
