What happened
A 4-2 start sounded respectable until Saturday in West Lafayette, where Minnesota lost 13-41 to a Purdue team nobody had circled. The turning point was the game being over early, the kind of collapse Gophers fans see coming and still have to watch. Misery jumped from 27 to 97 in seven days. One fan called it "Minnesota sports in a complete fucking nutshell." Another noted that "every real gophers fan knew this game would be a complete crash back down to earth." Being right never helps.
