Seven-and-oh after a 29-point beatdown, and the room still made time to relitigate the refs and Toney's yardage.
The emotional rollercoaster
Miami fans’ misery during the game, every 15 minutes. Up is worse.
What happened
Seven-zero, and the mood merely improved to content, which tells its own story. Miami buried Pittsburgh 52-23 on Saturday, the point where the week stopped being a referendum and started being a formality. Misery slid from 66 to 42, roughly the emotional distance between dread and mild suspicion. The scoreboard did not stop the officiating grievances, fans still fuming about "clowns saying the refs are rigging the game for us." Elsewhere, one poster noted dryly, "Stanford: Wait, you can hold Toney under 200 yards?" Undefeated, unsatisfied.
