#20 Houston
W 27-17 vs UCF · Sat, Oct 3 · 4-1 overall
Misery Index · Miserable · = from 63
Houston won by ten and still spent the week counting empty seats and eulogizing alumni who stopped caring.
The emotional rollercoaster
Houston fans’ misery during the game, every 15 minutes. Up is worse.
What happened
Houston beat UCF 27-17 and moved to 4-1, which in most places would qualify as a good Saturday. Instead the fanbase spent the week staring at empty seats and doing demographic math. The turning point wasn't a play, it was the panorama: a win in a half-filled building, and the conclusion that "alums who cared died out," the lingering bill for "UH's 30 year G5 purgatory." One student noted it's "sad to see alum not caring about the team as much as current students do." Winning, apparently, is the easy part.
