What happened
Florida State opened the year with a win and spent the week of September 7 giving it back, falling 24-27 to SMU at home and settling at 1-1 before the schedule even gets serious. The turning point was the home loss itself, a game Tallahassee had circled as proof of recovery and instead filed as evidence. Fans took inventory and landed on a punter: "Our best player is a 28 year old punter from Australia, what the fuck FSU." Meanwhile, "800 more years to mike norvells contract." Math nobody wanted.
