A 34-7 laugher was pleasant enough, but the room got far more joy out of watching the one who left flounder.

What happened

Arizona beat Cincinnati 34-7 and moved to 4-1, and the turning point was simply that the Wildcats never let the thing get interesting. Misery slid from 41 to 29, which in Tucson counts as joy. Yet the week's loudest voices weren't about the scoreboard at all. They were about old grudges, one fan urging the school to "sign him for as long as Hurley was there," another savoring that "his wife alienated in Tucson and the UW fanbase has turned against him." Winning helps. Remembering apparently helps more.
